Drafting Risk Assessments can, at first glance, appear to be a daunting and complicated task.  However, many can be completed based on experience and familiarity whereas others are of a more technical nature requiring specific expertise and equipment such as noise, vibration, COSHH etc.

When completing Risk Assessments it is important to remember to follow the set sequence (hierarchy) of Elimination, Substitution, Isolation, Control and only use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as a last resort.  Following on from assessments, this information must be available to the end user either as specific safety information or as a Method Statement
